Recommendations on Diploma Program Learning Outcomes (D3/D4) in Library and Information Science and Archival Studies 2026
Through the APTIPI Musyawarah Nasional and Collegial Meeting 2025 held at Universitas Padjadjaran, the Diploma Education and Curriculum Commission (D3/D4 Programs) formulated national recommendations on Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and vocational curriculum development for Library and Information Science and Archival Studies programs. These recommendations emphasize that diploma graduates should be prepared as applied professionals capable of managing information resources and library services in both conventional and digital environments. The PLOs are developed in accordance with the National Standards for Higher Education, labor market demands, and the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI). APTIPI also recommends a vocational curriculum framework that balances theoretical knowledge, practical training, industry internships, and applied projects to strengthen graduates’ technical and digital competencies. Particular attention is given to digital library management, information literacy, the application of information technology, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and distance learning into future curriculum development. These recommendations are expected to serve as a common reference for vocational programs in Library and Information Science and Archival Studies across Indonesia in preparing graduates who are job ready, technologically adaptive, and responsive to the needs of industry and society.
